Apple has released the iOS 27 developer beta 4 update, bringing the latest batch of system improvements and feature additions to developers. This comes as a follow-up to the iOS 27 developer beta 3 update, which was seeded a few weeks back.
iOS 27 Developer Beta 4 Update: What's New?
The biggest highlight feature in iOS 27 is undoubtedly the new Siri app. Apple introduced Siri AI at its annual WWDC 2026 event and, ever since, has been upgrading the smart assistant's experience with every new iOS 27 developer beta release.
With the iOS 27 developer beta 4 release, the Cupertino brand has added a new option to adjust the length of previews in the Siri app. A new splash screen will also now explain the Siri Search or Ask interface when activated for the first time. Users can activate this feature by swiping down from the Dynamic Island.

Also, an "Always Show Request" is added to the Accessibility menu of the Siri app to help users get real-time transcription of voice inputs. For context, Siri AI is designed to work flawlessly with voice inputs.
Moreover, the iOS 27 developer beta 4 update has also revamped the Siri Voice selection menu. Users can now see how the selected custom voice looks via a visual interface to help them choose better. The voices also bring custom accents and Apple has confirmed it will add more voice options soon.
Lastly, the "Pace" and "Expressivity" voice control features of Siri AI have been carried forward to iOS 27 developer beta 4 from the iOS 27 developer beta 3 release.

Moving on, the iOS 27 developer beta 4 release has also added a new "Zoom Photos to Fill" toggle in the Photos section of the Settings app. It helps users enable slightly zoomed-in photos, matching the iPhone screen aspect ratio. The new option is toggled on by default.
Apple has also kept the new Liquid Glass slider in iOS 27 intact with the iOS 27 beta 4 update, letting users adjust the intensity of transparency effects. The toggle allows switching between Liquid Glass looks, either for a full-blown transparent effect or a more translucent frosted look.

Rest, iOS 27 developer beta 4 update brings a new Automatic Downloads toggle inside the Apple TV app, ProRes log format support inside the Camera app and an option to enable or disable Connectivity Assist for individual Wi-Fi networks.
Lastly, Apple has carried forward the upgraded Visual Intelligence features from iOS 27 developer beta 3 by integrating Siri AI with the iPhone camera and bringing a dedicated Siri Mode to the Camera app. iOS 27 developer beta 4 also carries forward support for passes inside Apple Wallet, a custom EQ toggle for AirPods and AI-generated Safari extensions.
Aside from these new additions, Apple has also fixed the depth effect bug that iOS 27 developer beta 3 users thought was a feature. The bug was notorious for adding a cutout around the wallpaper subject when swiping down from the notification panel and using a depth effect wallpaper.
That said, the iOS 27 developer beta 4 update can be downloaded by heading over to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates on eligible iPhones. For more clarity, those who are at least on the iPhone 11 can get the update, although the more advanced AI features will be limited to Apple Intelligence eligible devices only.
