MediaTek's Dimensity 7000 series of chipsets compete directly with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen lineup to bring commendable performance and features to mid-range and premium mid-range smartphones. Joining the list are the all-new Dimensity 7450 and Dimensity 7450X processors, which bring improved performance, better AI performance, gaming and connectivity options.

MediaTek Dimensity 7450 and 7450X Specifications and Features

The Dimensity 7450 and 7450X are based on a power-efficient 4nm fabrication process and combine big-core CPU design, a modern GPU, an advanced 5G modem and stronger NPU gains. It also brings features like high refresh rate display support, faster memory lanes and improved gaming and wireless standards.

From the looks of it, the new processors are very similar to the Dimensity 7400 chipset, with just slightly better AI performance. Meanwhile, the 7450X also brings dual-screen support, making it an ideal choice for foldables.

Below is a detailed look at the key Dimensity 7450 and 7450X specifications:

Beyond the specs, the Dimensity 7450 and 7450X are designed to deliver reliable real-world performance across everyday tasks, gaming and media consumption. AI has also taken a big leap with both processors as MediaTek has also added its sixth-generation NPU for AI processing, with 7% improved AI efficiency on photography, computational imaging and edge AI tasks.

Another key improvement is on the display side where both processors can not only bring Full HD+ and HDR playback support, but also unlock 144 Hz native refresh rate in mid-range phones. This also directly translates to gaming with phones now being able to reach 144 FPS gaming thanks to faster refresh rate and Adaptive Gaming Technology 3.0.

Connectivity remains a key focus as well, with the integrated Release-17 5G modem delivering faster speeds and better efficiency, while on the imaging front, support for up to 200 MP cameras and HDR processing enables advanced photography inside mid-range phones.

All in all, the Dimensity 7450 and 7450X are a clear step up from previous-gen 7,000 series chipsets and we'll soon see a host of phones being powered by these chipsets. The upcoming Motorola Razr 70 is expected to be powered by the D7450X.
