A day after revealing the OnePlus 16 design, the brand has followed it up with fresh details about the upcoming flagship phone, ahead of its launch in China.
The official OnePlus Weibo account has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will get extremely narrow bezels on all four sides, measuring a mere 1.15mm. OnePlus says this will give the phone's display a cleaner look and a more immersive feel.
The official bezel size number is similar to that of the last-gen OnePlus 15, which we mentioned in our dedicated OnePlus 15 review. OnePlus has also kept the flat display of the 15 but has now paired it with larger-radius rounded corners. This makes the OnePlus 16's corners a tad bit more rounded than those of the OnePlus 15.
Aside from the ergonomics, OnePlus has also confirmed a metal camera deco and a metal mid-frame for the OnePlus 16. These details join what OnePlus has already announced. The phone will debut with the ColorOS 17 update and support a system-wide 165 Hz refresh rate on its BOE X4 panel.
Moreover, the customisable AI Mind Space key on the left edge of the OnePlus 16 will be much more customisable than in previous generations. OnePlus says that the key can be assigned up to nine different functions, including the ability to mute the phone, turn on the flashlight and one-tap recording.
That said, the OnePlus 16 will come in three colour options: Tomorrow Starlight, Dark Forest and Martian Masterpiece; and four configurations: 12 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 512 GB, 16 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 1 TB. The smartphone could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, scheduled to go official at the Snapdragon Summit September 2026 event. So, stay tuned.
