Oppo foldables to take the fight straight to iPhone Fold
As per tech publication SmartPrix, Oppo is planning to launch the Find N6 and the Find N7 book-style folding phones in 2026 itself. The first in line is the Find N6, which is expected to debut in February 2026 in China. It will then make its way to the global markets sometime in March 2026.
However, the main star of the show is said to be the Find N7, which will allegedly launch in direct response to Apple's debut iPhone Fold. It is said to take a radical approach with the same wide book-style aspect ratio that the iPhone Fold is said to offer. Also, since Apple Fold is expected to go official in September 2026, the Find N7 is also targeting the same month for launch.
The publication claims that hardware-wise, the Find N7 will still pack top-of-the-line specs like a 200 MP camera, flagship Snapdragon chipset and more. Yet it will go neck-in-neck with the Apple iPhone Fold. But this won't be new for Oppo. The very first Oppo Find N, which started it all was a wide book-style fold. So, the brand isn't venturing into new waters. It has the formula to make a compelling Apple Fold counterpart.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how the discarded folding phone formula makes a comeback in 2026. Even Samsung is prepping a new mystery H8 foldable smartphone to rival the Apple Fold. As for whether the Apple Fold will adopt a wider aspect ratio, a recent iPhone fold leaked renders video has all but confirmed it.
That said, all eyes are currently on the sixth-generation foldable. Several Find N6 specifications leaks have tipped it to be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 foldable of 2026. It is also said to sport an 8.12-inch 2K LTPO inner screen and a 6.62-inch cover display. There is also a high chance this is going to become the first Oppo foldable to rock a 200 MP camera. However, until the brand confirms the details, take them with a pinch of salt.
