Summary

  • Apple's upcoming iPhone Fold has now appeared as in a render video shared online.
  • The video reveals the crease-free inner display, pill-shaped camera module and button placements on the foldable device.
  • It also showcases a hole-punch camera on the inner and outer screen, as well as a Power button at the top of the iPhone Fold.

Apple is expected to debut the iPhone Fold in 2026 and all leaks and rumours point to a book-style foldable phone that's already in development. With several months to go until the official launch, renders of the iPhone Fold have now appeared online, reiterating what we already know about the device so far.

YouTuber Jon Prosser has a shared video via Front Page Tech, showcasing renders of the iPhone Fold based on the rumours and leaks that have been out until now. The biggest highlight is the back design, which is inspired by the iPhone Air and houses a long pill-shaped plateau for the dual camera setup.

The video stresses that Apple has reportedly decided to go the book-style route for its foldable iPhone over the clamshell form factor like on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Moto Razr 60 Ultra. The difference between this iPhone Fold and current foldables will be the display, which will come with a crease-free design. This, as explained in the video, will be aided by a liquid metal hinge and pressure-dispersing metal plate

It will also stand apart from the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold with a much-wider 7.8-inch "iPad-like display". This means the inner display could feature a wider aspect ratio than the square-ish aspect ratio seen on the existing book-style foldables. The outer 5.5-inch screen will also be broader than the competition, and this has been reiterated in a recent iPhone Fold display design leak

Speaking of the outer display, the video shows a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. This highlights that the iPhone Fold won't feature Face ID for security. Instead, it's reported to arrive with a Touch ID sensor, which will be embedded inside the Power button at the top of the device.

In addition to the outer display, there'll be one more hole-punch selfie sensor on the inner display. At the back, the iPhone Fold will host two cameras, possibly a main lens and an ultra-wide sensor, like that of the iPhone 17

Prosser also touched upon some of the internals, noting that the foldable iPhone will feature Apple's upcoming second-generation C2 modem. He also highlighted that it could host two separate high-density battery cells split between both sides of the phone.

Lastly, the iPhone Fold is expected to arrive alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max by September 2026, for a price of around $2,000–$2,500 (approximately Rs 1,79,500 – Rs 2,24,000). It's reported to come in black and white variants and may launch inside a new "Ultra" moniker.
