With around a week to go for OriginOS 6 launch, Vivo has posted a teaser video showcasing upcoming design changes in the update. These changes heavily revolve around transparent glass-like design and seem to be inspired by Apple's iOS 26 Liquid Glass aesthetic.
OriginOS 6 to flaunt translucent design and smoother animations
Earlier today, Vivo posted a teaser video on its Weibo handle showcasing OriginOS 6's design. The video mostly highlights the major UI redesign, starting with the dynamic lockscreen clock. It looks pretty similar to the default clock on iOS 26 and adjusts itself as notifications pile up on the lock screen.

The same goes for the numbers on the lockscreen, which now adopt a translucent design with the numbers briefly glowing when pressed. The new design will follow across the user interface, including a host of Vivo's system apps like Notes and Calculator.
Besides, from Quick Settings to Vivo's Atomic Island overlays, the effects will be visible across the user interface. The video also showcases new and improved animations when dismissing recent apps, as well as features like stacked notifications.

Lastly, pop-up floating windows can be used in landscape mode. Some of the AI features include Live Photo AI erase, which can remove moving subjects from a Live photo.
While the teaser reveals most of the key features, it doesn't delve into the performance improvements that are expected to arrive with the release. Similarly, some of the OriginOS 6 features that were teased before, like cross-ecosystem features and Widget stacking, are also missing from the video.

OriginOS 6 will be based on Android 16, so we expect the global version to receive Android 16 features, such as Live updates (improved Atomic Island) and Advanced Protection Mode.
Vivo is all set to unveil OriginOS 6 on October 15, 2025. The release is already available in beta, in China, for the Vivo X200 series and iQOO 13. Vivo and iQOO have also started hiring Beta testers in India, suggesting an imminent release once the OS launches in China.
We expect the stable to roll out to all OriginOS 6-supported devices by the end of 2025. Stay tuned as we will cover everything that Vivo announces during the event.
