The Poco F9 series has steadily appeared online via rumours and leaks. Expected to be rebadged Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max, the smartphones are expected to hit global markets soon. Ahead of that, new information has surfaced, giving us a closer look at the battery capacities of both phones.
Reliable tipster Kacper Skrzypek has dug through HyperOS code to reveal the battery capacities and charging speeds of the Poco F9 Ultra and the Poco F9 Pro on X.
According to that, the Poco F9 Ultra is tipped to house an 8,050mAh battery, while the Poco F9 Pro could pack a 6,330mAh cell. Both phones are expected to bring 100W fast charging support.

The interesting bit here is that both upcoming Poco phones will likely bring reduced battery capacity compared to their rebadged counterparts, the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max. For context, the K100 Pro ships with an 8,580mAh battery, while the K100 Pro Max offers 9,070mAh capacity.
This means the Poco F9 Pro (Redmi K100 Pro) will lose around 2,250mAh capacity, while the Poco F9 Ultra (Redmi K100 Pro Max) could see a drop of around 1,000mAh capacity.
While this might be disappointing for Poco fans, it isn't anything new. To comply with local laws, Xiaomi has historically reduced battery capacities for phones launched outside of China. We have seen the same stand true for the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra, in comparison to the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max.
