The Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ went official last month with a promise of three years of major OS updates and four years of security patches. However, the brand has now announced an extended software update policy for its Realme 16 Pro series to keep up in a market where future-proofing phones is becoming increasingly important.
Realme 16 Pro, 16 Pro+ Updated Software Policy

With the revised commitment, the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ will now receive four major Android OS updates and six years of security patches.
The phones ship with Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 out of the box, and with the latest move, they are confirmed to receive upgrades up to Android 20. Security updates, meanwhile, will continue till 2032.
This marks a notable upgrade from the brand's earlier commitment and undoubtedly the longest software support cycle ever offered on Realme phones.
