Back in December 2025, Samsung took on Apple with its very first XR mixed reality headset. While it didn't gain the initial attention it deserved, there is a strong possibility that Samsung is planning to create ripples with its first-ever smart glass. However, it looks like the South Korean brand has not one, not two, but three new XR smart glasses planned for release this year.
Three New Samsung XR Smart Glasses Reportedly Launching in 2026
While reports of new Samsung XR glasses in 2026 have been floating around since last year, thanks to Android Authority, we now have more insight. Based on a new One UI 9 source code hint, Samsung has three new XR smart glasses in the pipeline. Two of them, SM-O200P and SM-O200J, have been expected for the longest time. However, the surprise member is a third pair of smart glasses, going by the “Haean” codename and “SM-O500” model number.

All three Samsung XR smart glasses are expected to resemble the likes of the Meta RayBan and Meta Oakley smart glasses with the usual camera, microphones and speakers implementation. However, the key differentiating factor is said to be Samsung's connected Galaxy ecosystem. They could arrive with the all-new Perplexity-powered Bixby AI experience.
Alternatively, there is also the possibility of "Haean" being a completely different AR product than a smart glass. With rumours about Apple working on a cheaper and lighter Vision Pro, it could be that the “SM-O500” SKU is Samsung's answer to it, rather than a pair of Meta-like smart glasses.
Whatever may be the case, it is clear that brands are taking the smart glass product category very seriously in 2026. We have already heard about Nothing smart glasses slated to launch in 2027 and even the luxury Gucci smart glasses being made in collaboration with Google. Hence, just like the smart watch and smart ring boom, smart AI glasses might just be the next big thing.
