Googlebook launched back in May 2026 as an Android-based laptop platform that replaces Chromebooks. The first Googlebook laptops from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo started shipping earlier this month. However, several phone-integration features didn’t work properly with Galaxy phones. Thankfully, that seems to have been fixed now.
Google’s Mishaal Rahman confirmed via a Reddit post that Googlebook’s “Better Together” features now work with Samsung Galaxy phones. However, they must run the One UI 9.0 update based on Android 17.

Moreover, users will also need to ensure that Cross-Device Services and Google Play Services are updated to the latest version. If there is still an issue, the official Googlebook support page recommends restarting both Googlebook and the Galaxy phone.
As part of the fix, Mishal Rahman has outlined four Better Together features that now work with Galaxy phones: They include:
- Cast My Apps: This feature runs the phone’s apps on the Googlebook’s screen. The app stays on the user's phone, and it can be controlled with the laptop’s keyboard and trackpad.
- Continue On: This one lets users pick up what they were doing on their phone and carry on with it on the laptop.
- Notification Sync: Galaxy phone notifications show up on the Googlebook in real time.
- Quick Access: Users can view, search and share files stored on their Galaxy phone straight from the laptop.
That said, Samsung has not launched a Googlebook of its own yet. The ones already in the market are fairly new and run on Googlebook OS with deeper integration with Gemini. Hence, these features are still new and could be a little wonky to start with.
