Ever since foldable smartphones came into the picture, one of their glaring drawbacks has been the visible and sensitive crease where the display folds. The industry has been looking for ways to mitigate the same, with Oppo finally succeeding with the Find N6. Well, Samsung could follow suit with the Galaxy Z Fold 8's display.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Could Get a Creaseless Display
According to a recent update from industry insider Ice Universe, Samsung has cracked the code. The tipster claimed in one of their posts on X that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could finally adopt a creaseless display, comparable to the Oppo Find N6. For those unaware, the Oppo Find N6 is the industry benchmark with a Zero-feel screen.

That said, this marks a sudden reversal in the rumour mill. Earlier this month, Ice Universe expressed its disappointment over a lack of design change in the Fold 8. However, the tipster has clarified that the earlier reaction was on early prototypes, and the final version features massive improvements in the display.
Earlier this year, Samsung Display announced Crease-free displays at CES 2026, and the Z Fold 8 may be using the same technology. Past information has pointed toward Apple tapping into Samsung's crease-free displays with a potential long-term partnership.
Beyond the physical redesign, we know that Samsung is also restructuring how it markets the devices. Recent reports suggest Samsung is renaming the Z Fold 8 to Z Fold 8 Ultra, while the Z Fold 8 moniker could be replaced by the rumoured Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide form factor.
With the official unpacked event anticipated for July 2026, Samsung is currently maintaining silence about the flagship's roadmap. Besides, there's no news about its Flip cousin, the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Although a recent Z Flip 8 case leak revealed its potential design.
