A hands-on video of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has leaked online ahead of its expected June 22 launch. This newly surfaced footage hints at a near-invisible display crease, which is a long-awaited upgrade for Samsung's foldable lineup.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Hands-on Video Shows Nearly Invisible Display Crease
The leaked clip arrives courtesy of Instant Digital on Weibo, and it shows the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra being opened, closed, and tilted under direct lighting to showcase what appears to be a creaseless display. While previous models had a noticeable trough in the middle of the folding glass, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra display crease is barely noticeable.
Based on the footage, the fold line becomes visible only when the phone is held at an extreme angle under harsh lighting conditions. During regular usage, it looks just as seamless as the traditional slab phone, which could remove that annoying bump when swiping across the middle of a foldable display. The video also briefly shows the cover screen of the phone, which is similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Now, as per a previous leak, Samsung has achieved this near-creaseless screen by redesigning the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra hinge. However, the issue with this is that opening and closing the foldable is reportedly more decisive. So, it won't be easy to hold at certain angles like current generations.
While the arrival of a creaseless display will please many, it won't just be limited to the Ultra and is expected to be used by the regular Galaxy Z Fold 8 as well. Besides, since the foldable iPhone Ultra will reportedly use Samsung's OLED display, we could expect to see a similar near-creaseless screen on it as well.
As for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra specifications, it could feature an 8-inch 120 Hz inner display and a 6.5-inch cover screen. Under the hood, the foldable could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and pack a 5,000mAh battery.
Additionally, the foldable could sport a 200 MP primary rear camera, accompanied by a 50 MP ultrawide lens and a 10 MP 3x telephoto shooter. On the software front, it could be one of the first Samsung phones to arrive with One UI 9 out of the box.
The next Galaxy Unpacked 2026 date is set for July 22, 2026, and Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8, alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. More leaks about the foldables should surface in the coming days. Until then, stay tuned.
