Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. While all three phones bring their own distinct focus areas, the Z Fold 8 Ultra is the one pushing Samsung's "Ultra" branding into the foldable space for the first time. It is for those users who want maximum productivity and content creation out of a larger foldable canvas.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra centres around an expansive 8-inch main display, paired with a 6.5-inch cover screen. Both of these screens are Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and Samsung's Vision Booster technology for better outdoor visibility.

Despite the larger main screen, Samsung says this is its slimmest Z Fold design yet, measuring just 4.1mm when unfolded and weighing 215 grams.
That slimness is partly down to Samsung's new Flex Titanium display technology, which combines a titanium-alloy film with an enhanced titanium plate to help the device stay thin without compromising durability.
The structure is also designed to absorb pressure and impact better, reduce crease visibility over time, and make the hinge feel smoother and more natural when opening and closing.
On the camera front, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra features a 200 MP main wide-angle camera with Quad Pixel autofocus and OIS, now supporting HDR capability even in its full 200 MP shooting mode for more true-to-life images.
It's joined by a new 50 MP ultra-wide camera for wider scenes and macro shots, along with a 10 MP selfie camera on the inner display and a 10 MP shooter on the cover screen.

Samsung says the phone also brings improved Nightography for brighter, clearer low-light shots. Additionally, the foldable also brings 8K video recording through a new APV codec and Cine LUT support for cinematic colour grading directly on the device. These features are clearly meant for creators who want a professional-grade toolkit without needing separate camera equipment.
Powering the Z Fold 8 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset for Galaxy, backed by a 5,000mAh battery, one of the larger capacities Samsung has fit into a book-style foldable. To keep performance steady under heavier workloads, Samsung has also added an expanded graphite cooling structure for better heat dissipation.

The phone introduces a new dual-path charging architecture with 45W fast charging, which Samsung says distributes power more efficiently across the battery system for faster, more stable charging.
Software-wise, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra ships with One UI 9 and leans heavily into Samsung's expanding Galaxy AI suite. This includes Now Brief, which surfaces personalised insights and daily updates. Then there's Now Nudge, which suggests relevant next steps like checking a schedule or saving a location as conversations naturally develop.
Further, Gemini Intelligence is also built in, letting users complete multi-step actions across more than 40 supported apps and services using natural requests. This makes it the only other foldable, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, to arrive with Gemini Intelligence out of the box.

There's also Gemini Notebook, which lets users combine notes, images, recordings, and documents into a single organised workspace.
On the privacy side, One UI 9 features include a new AI Assistant Activity dashboard, giving users a centralised view of AI actions performed on their behalf. Additionally, the foldable also comes with enhanced Privacy Alerts that flag suspicious background permission requests.
These privacy features sit on top of Samsung's existing Knox security framework, which now includes a Personal Data Engine for context-aware AI and Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection for safeguarding that data.
