The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide has been buzzing in the rumour mill lately with all types of details. While most leaks so far have focused solely on the phone's passport-like aspect ratio, the latest one gives us an idea about its camera specifications and colour options for the first time ever.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide Could Feature Dual 50 MP Cameras
Tech publication SamMobile, in collaboration with GalaxyClub has unearthed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will allegedly feature a dual 50 MP rear camera setup. It is expected to bring a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 50 MP ultra-wide angle lens with an f/1.9 aperture.

At the front, both the inner display selfie camera and the outer screen one, are said to share the same 10 MP resolution. The foldable will likely support 4K @ 30 FPS video recording from the front while the rear camera could shoot up to 8K @ 30 FPS.
If this is actually true, then the expectations of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide sporting a 200 MP camera are essentially debunked. Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is expected to bring a triple camera setup, complete with a telephoto lens, there is a high chance the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will be priced lower than the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Moreover, by pricing the passport-like foldable aggressively, Samsung might end up creating a compelling package that will go head-to-head with the iPhone Fold. Especially since aside from the cameras, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is expected to deliver a flagship foldable experience.
Aside from the iPad-like 7.6-inch folding display and a 5.4-inch cover screen, it is still believed to ship with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, run One UI 9 out of the box and bring a 5,000mAh battery to the table. Also, based on the leaked Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide dummy unit, Samsung might end up adding Qi2 charging to the folding phone.
That said, it remains to be seen how Samsung actually positions its first-ever wide foldable. It could bring some interesting colourways as the report states that the phone will launch with a Dark Green signature colourway. With third-party Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide cases already circulating online, it's only a matter of time before the phone goes official at this year's Galaxy Unpacked event expected to happen in July 2026.
