Summary

  • Samsung is reportedly considering launching the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold in October with availability from November 2025.
  • The brand is initially expected to make only 50,000 units available to test the triple foldable waters.
  • Galaxy Tri-Fold is expected to arrive with an inward folding mechanism and a large flexible display.

It is well known now that the debut triple-folding smartphone from Samsung is incoming in 2025 itself. While the brand has confirmed the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold's existence, it has refrained from announcing its launch date. However, a new leak has outed the tentative launch window of the triple foldable ahead of any official confirmation.

South Korean tech publication ET News has revealed that Samsung is eyeing the month of October 2025 to make the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold (name not confirmed yet) official. The brand will allegedly make the device available to purchase from November 2025.

However, the publication claims that Samsung will take a phased approach with the Galaxy triple foldable launch. This means that Samsung will make only a limited quantity of the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold available to the mass market initially, the current estimation being 50,000 units.

Given that fans are eagerly waiting for the first triple folding smartphone from Samsung, this move might disappoint some. However, it is not an unusual move for two important reasons.

Firstly, as mentioned, this will be the first Tri-Fold from the brand. So, the company wants to see how the market reacts to this new design while avoiding any major Quality Control issues. By making a small quantity of the Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold available, the brand will be able to cut back on its losses, gather market feedback and resolve any major issues swiftly.

Secondly, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is only two months old at this point. It launched back in July 2025 and has received a good response since then. ET News claims that, based on information received via an industry insider, "the Fold 7 is performing better than expected". Hence, it is sensible for Samsung to keep that momentum going and not let the launch of the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold sabotage the performance of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Hence, while we wait patiently for Samsung to bring its first triple folding smartphone to the market, it is important to note that stocks will be limited. So, fans will have to act fast to own of the few Galaxy Z Tri-Fold at launch.

As for its specifications, not much is known besides the fact that it could feature an inward folding display mechanism with a dual hinge design and a large flexible OLED panel. It could draw its power from the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and feature up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

Samsung's triple foldable could boast premium build quality. The Galaxy Z Tri-Fold could also ship with Android 6-based One UI 8 out of the box and bring a new split trio feature to let the Tri-Fold run up to three apps on the main screen. There's no doubt that it could easily be one of the best foldable phones out there upon launch, giving solid competition to the likes of the upcoming Huawei Mate XTs.

That said, we are excited to see what Samsung brings to the triple-folding space this year. We will be sure to share our thoughts once it breaks cover. So, keep a close watch on Beebom Gadgets for more updates.
