Samsung is yet to reveal any detail regarding its debut triple folding smartphone. While the brand has confirmed of its existence, not much is known about the device at this time. However, a recent report hints at the smartphone's multitasking capability.
Tech publication SammyGuru claims that the upcoming Samsung triple-folding smartphone will let users keep three apps active at the same time. The smartphone will reportedly be able to display each app in full-screen side-by-side thanks to the smartphone's phone-sized folding panels.
A dedicated "split trio" option will likely let users display up to three apps on the main folding display's homescreen, taskbar and/or the edge panel. Users will also seemingly get the option to arrange these apps either vertically or horizontally.

If true, this will greatly increase the productivity of the Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold making full use of its dual folding nature. This is not the first time we have seen something like this. The 2024 OnePlus Open has a very similar feature dubbed Open Canvas. Moreover, the very recently launched Vivo X Fold 5 can even open up to five applications simultaneously.
Since, the publication has not shared any images of the said feature in action, we do not know at the time of writing how it actually works. Apart from this, the publication has also mentioned an updated cover screen mirroring interface for the Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold.

The feature will now get updated to make use of the triple screen real estate, with the first two home pages appearing next to each other. There will also be the option to choose different layouts with higher flexibility.
With that said, the leak has only revealed these two new features coming to the upcoming tri-fold and has not made any comment on its specs. Based on a previous leak however, we do know that the device will likely feature a single outer secondary display with two rear back panels and a single dual-folding main screen. The device when closed will be similar in form factor to the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Other than that, it is also expected to feature a triple rear camera setup and draw its power from the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. It will most likely get paired with 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage. Apart from that, leaks suggest that Samsung's tri-fold could arrive with a premium build.
