Vivo will soon launch the X Fold 5, and like most book style foldables, it's only normal to expect seriously good multitasking on it. However, Vivo could make it far more compelling with the ability to run up to five apps on the screen at once.
The Vivo X Fold 5 could debut with a new feature called Atomic Workbench, and it has been demoed running five apps at once. The feature was first posted by Vivo's Product Manager Han Boxiao on Weibo, and showcases the raw multitasking prowess of the Vivo X Fold 5.

In the video, we see a person playing League of Legends: Wild Rift, while also running DeepSeek, WPS Office, and two other apps above. In comparison, OnePlus' Open Canvas feature, which debuted with the OnePlus Open, is capable of running two apps side-by-side and a third one that's a swipe away. Han also mentions in the post that all apps run in real time and do not interfere with each other.
For those unaware, the X Fold 5 is expected to come arrive with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Vivo recently confirmed a 6,000 mAh SiC battery will be present on the foldable along with 90W fast charging. The device will only measure 4.3 mm in thickness when unfolded, just shy of Oppo Find N5's 4.2 mm. It'll sport an 8-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display, and a 6.53-inch cover display.
The device is expected to launch with OriginOS 5 based on Android 15 in China, but the India variant could be running on Funtouch OS 15. The Vivo X Fold 5 is launching on June 25 at 7:00 PM CST in China.
The India release and pricing are currently unknown, but the device was recently spotted on BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), suggesting it may launch in the subcontinent after all.
