Samsung is making sure its budget-friendly and mid-range user base isn't left behind in the transition to Android 17. As a result, the brand is expanding the stable One UI 9.0 rollout to the Galaxy M56, A35, F17 and M17 in India.
After rolling out stable One UI 9.0 to Galaxy A55 5G in India, Samsung is rolling it out to the Galaxy A35, M56, F17 and M17. Starting with the Galaxy A35, the update carries firmware version A356EXXUBEZJ2 and weighs a hefty 2.7 GB. The Galaxy M56 is getting firmware version M566BXXU7DZJ1 with a size of 2.2 GB.

The budget Galaxy F17 and Galaxy M17 have firmware versions ending in DZJ6 and are 2.4 GB in size. Besides, both have the October 2026 security patch. Users can get the update by heading to Settings -> Software update -> Check for updates.
Users are advised to back up their files before initiating the update in case something goes wrong. Also, charge the device to at least 30% and keep it plugged in during the process.
As for all the One UI 9.0 features, there are both user-facing and functional additions. Some of them include more customisation options, with the ability to resize the media player. New features include My FanCam and improved Galaxy AI features like Now Brief, Now Nudge and Scam Detection.
While Samsung has yet to provide a detailed rollout plan for its One UI 9.0-eligible smartphones, the update should hit more smartphones as we push toward the end of 2026.
The update cycle is expected to last through Q1 2027, so those with an eligible device are advised to hold on to their hats.
