Vivo has started teasing the launch of the Vivo S2 in India. The smartphone will reintroduce the "Vivo S" series in India and will be a successor to the Vivo S1, launched way back in 2019.
A dedicated Flipkart microsite has gone live, confirming that the Vivo S2 will launch in India soon. The page has given a glimpse into the smartphone's design, revealing a horizontal camera bar with a dual-lens setup and a ring LED light.
The smartphone has been showcased in a white colour option and an "ASPH." branding is visible in the camera module. At the time of writing, it is unclear what the word actually means. But a quick Google search revealed that it could be an abbreviation for "Aspherical Lens", which is used by Leica to denote aspherical lens elements.
Moving on, thanks to a recent Vivo S2 colour and variants leak, we know that the white colourway could be called Silk White. The phone is also expected to launch in two more colour options: Sapphire Blue and Regal Bronze.
Moreover, the Flipkart page also mentions some of the key USPs of the Vivo S2: flagship-inspired design, immersive audio-visual experience, stunning photography and videography, and power-packed performance.
Vivo S2 Leaked Specifications
While the exact specifications of the Vivo S2 are not officially shared, a recent 91mobiles report hinted at the Dimensity 7360 chipset for the smartphone. This is a better-tuned variant of the standard Dimensity 7300 chipset and is found in phones like the Vivo V70 FE.
The phone is also tipped to bring a 50 MP main Sony sensor and support 4K video recording through both the front and back cameras. Vivo S2 could also launch with a curved AMOLED display since the leaked promo image mentions "3D curved display".
While the exact battery capacity has not leaked, expect it to join the ranks of big-battery Vivo phones with at least a 6,000mAh capacity. As for the rest of the Vivo S2 specs, it could arrive in two RAM + storage configurations: 8 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB.

The phone could come with a starting price of Rs 38,000 for the 8 GB + 128 GB model. Meanwhile, the 8 GB + 256 GB variant could cost Rs 42,000.
We expect the actual selling price of the phone to be lower than the listed price, at under Rs 35,000. This is no surprise, given that the current RAM crisis has pushed phone prices through the roof.
At that price, the smartphone will compete with the likes of the Nothing Phone 4b, Redmi Turbo 5 and the Samsung Galaxy A37 5G.
