Summary

  • Vivo is reportedly planning to bring the X300 Ultra to global markets in 2026.
  • The device has been listed on the GSMA IMEI database with the V2562 model number.
  • Expected specs include a 200 MP main camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and OriginOS 6.

Vivo's "X Ultra" series has always been about the pinnacle of smartphone photography. However, fans outside of China have not been able to experience the "X" factor of these Ultra flagships. Now, with the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra, this exclusivity is set to change.

Vivo X300 Ultra could launch globally

Spotted by tech publication SmartPrix, the upcoming X300 Ultra from Vivo just got listed on the GSMA IMEI database with the V2562 SKU. While the listing has not explicitly mentioned the region of registration, the publication believes that it is a clear indication that the Vivo X300 Ultra is going global.

If true, this could make it the first Ultra smartphone from Vivo to reach outside of China. For context, both the Vivo X100 Ultra and the Vivo X200 Ultra have remained China exclusives. So, with the X300 Ultra going global, the upcoming camera powerhouse could also reach India.

To validate the claim, we did some digging from our end and found the chances of X300 Ultra landing in foreign shores quite high. Both the X100 Ultra and the X200 Ultra bear the V2366GA and V2454A model numbers respectively and are China only. However, for phones like the Vivo X200 and the Vivo X200 Pro, which launched in India as well, the model numbers are V2406 and V2413 respectively.

So, it is clearly evident that models which launch outside of China, do not end with an alphabet in their factory SKU. Hence, we believe that this indeed hints that the X300 Ultra will launch globally as well as in India. However, since this is just speculation at the time of writing, take it with a pinch of salt.

Based on what we have heard about the upcoming smartphone so far, it is shaping up to be an interesting offering. For starters, a previous X300 Ultra camera specs leak hinted at a triple-rear camera setup with a 200 MP main camera, a 200 MP periscope lens and a 50 MP ultra-wide angle camera.

The smartphone is said to use the Sony IMX09E sensor for the main camera, while the periscope lens will use the new Samsung HPB "Thanos" sensor that we find inside the Vivo X300 and the Vivo X300 Pro. The ultra-wide camera is said to use the Sony IMX09A sensor. Other than that, expect Vivo's collaboration with Zeiss to extend to the X300 Ultra as well.

Also, unlike the Vivo X300 series in China, which featured the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, expect the X300 Ultra to flaunt the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. That said, expect to see the Vivo X300 Ultra go official in China somewhere around April 2026. Only then will the smartphone hit global shores, if at all it will.
