Vodafone Idea (Vi) has expanded its prepaid recharge portfolio in India and, for the first time ever, has introduced a hybrid recharge for both domestic and international coverage. The all-new Rs 4,9997 plan is designed to cater to the year-long needs of users who frequently travel abroad.

First things first, with the Rs 4,997 hybrid plan, Vi users are assured of 365 days of non-stop coverage. It bundles 1.5 GB of daily data along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. However, the biggest advantage is its international coverage of up to 124 countries, such as the UK, USA, Philippines, Germany, Europe and more.
The pack includes 100 minutes of outgoing international calls (within the foreign country and to India) for 59 countries (Set 1) and up to 50 minutes of local and international calls in 65 countries (Set 2). Users can visit the Vi website to learn more about which countries fall in which set to understand call coverage.
Moreover, the Rs 4,997 pack will also include 5 GB of data in Set 1 countries and 1 GB of data within Set 2 countries. Beyond that, users will be billed at Rs 10 per MB spent. Outgoing SMS is also chargeable at Rs 15 per SMS sent. There is no fee involved in receiving SMS and calls.
For users visiting the UAE, the international roaming benefits include only 25 minutes of outgoing and incoming calls and no additional data quota. Other than that, the plan offers a year's worth of Amazon Prime and Vi movies & TV. It also comes with data rollover benefits and data backup options.
