Xiaomi's first wide foldable, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, has been making headlines lately and well, the wait is almost over as the brand has revealed its launch date. The wide foldable will be joined by the brand's next-generation Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max flagship tablet, Pengcheng N70 series electric SUV and more.

Xiaomi took to Weibo to announce that it will launch the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max in China on September 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM CST (or 4:30 PM IST). For those unaware, the Xiaomi 18 Fold will be the brand's first wide foldable to compete with Apple's upcoming passport-style foldable and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.

More importantly, it will debut with Xiaomi's proprietary XRING O3 chipset inside. Besides, Xiaomi also confirmed in another Weibo post that the devices will feature LPDDR6 memory developed by ChangXin Memory Technologies. This will make the Xiaomi 18 Fold the first phone with LPDDR6 memory.

Leaked Xiaomi 18 Fold specs suggest the phone could boast a 7.76-inch inner folding AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 200 MP main camera and a 6,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Software-wise, both devices are expected to run on HyperOS 4 based on Android 17 out of the box.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max will also boast the XRING O3 chipset. It's a deca-core chipset with six large and four small cores that maxes out at 4.35 GHz. A recent Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max Geekbench result shows the processor hitting 3,474 points in single-core and a whopping 13,229 points in multi-core scores, pointing toward strong performance.

During the XRING O3 launch, Xiaomi claimed that the integrated 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU delivers an 85% performance leap over the previous generation, all while heavily reducing power consumption by 64%. The tablet itself is expected to feature a 10,000mAh battery alongside 120W fast charging.
