Xiaomi is prepping the launch of its upcoming Xiaomi 18 series in China, but new information about its potential India launch has just dropped. According to an industry insider, Xiaomi is accelerating the Xiaomi 18 series' India release schedule, with the smartphones hitting the market by the end of 2026.
Xiaomi 18 Series to Launch Sooner in India
According to prominent tipster Yogesh Brar on X, the Xiaomi 18 series India launch window could be set for December 2026. This could bring the new flagship Xiaomi smartphones a full two months ahead of Xiaomi's usual cadence and a late-winter rollout window.
The most significant change in the upcoming series involves a restructuring of the smartphone hierarchy. As reports point to Xiaomi cancelling the Ultra moniker due to the ongoing RAM crisis, the same could be replaced by the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max variant.
Therefore, the Xiaomi 18 series will collectively consist of the standard Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Because the Ultra is reportedly cancelled, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could serve as the top-tier offering of the brand. However, considering previous Xiaomi flagship phone sales in India, Yogesh says the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be available in limited quantities.
While key specifications of these smartphones remain under wraps, leaks and rumours have revealed upgrades all across compared to the previous generation. For starters, the Xiaomi 18 series could get massive battery improvements, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro reportedly sporting a privacy display like the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Besides, the Xiaomi 18 series could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, dual 200 MP cameras, and the Pros could retain the secondary display at the back.
