Xiaomi has finally launched its Redmi K Pad in China during the Human x Car x Home annual event. The compact 8.8-inch tablet has gone official as an iPad Mini competitor and here's a quick rundown of all the details.
Redmi K Pad Specifications and Features
The biggest highlight of the Redmi K Pad is its compact metal unibody design, measuring just 6.46mm in thickness and weighing 336 grams. At the front, an 8.8-inch LCD 3K 165 Hz display with an aspect ratio of 16:10. Now, this panel can hit 610 nits and offers a pixel density of 403 PPI.

The panel is also backed by Dolby Vision, TÜV Rheinland as well as DC Dimming to offer a comfortable and rich viewing experience. According to Redmi, this display surpasses Apple's iPad Mini. To make streaming content and gaming more immersive, there are dual symmetrical speakers as well with Dolby Atmos support.

For performance, the Redmi K Pad utilises the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor. Now, this chipset pairs up with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. To make extensive gaming easier, the tablet also uses a big 12,050 mm2 vapour chamber cooling system alongside a Turbo Engine 4.0 to make the tablet run 4°C.

There's also native level 3K super resolution that Xiaomi compares to PC graphics quality. When playing open-world games, the brand claims that the tablet can run them in full resolution for an hour at a stable 60 FPS.
In terms of software, the Redmi K Pad runs on Android 15-based HyperOS and also gets support for essential features like Apple ecological connection that lets it connect to Apple devices too.
Now, although the flagship tablet prioritises comfortable one-hand usage and gaming, it has thrown in a decent camera setup as well. At the back, there is a single 13 MP OmniVision OV13B sensor while the punch-hole cutout at the front houses an 8 MP OmniVision OV08F10 selfie shooter.

The Redmi K Pad packs a 7,550mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. The tablet also supports Bypass Charging Plus letting it draw power directly from the charger to keep the battery from wearing out.
Further, there are dual USB-C ports to utilise the ports as well. The tablet uses a primary USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 for charging. Meanwhile, the other port can be used for additional accessories. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6. However, it misses out on a fingerprint sensor.
With all that out of the way, let's take a look at the pricing of the tablet.
Redmi K Pad Pricing and Availability

The Redmi K Pad starts in China at 2,799 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 33,500) for the 8 GB + 256 GB variant.
