The Realme P4x combines one of the best processors in the segment with a ginormous battery, all in a pretty sleek form factor. It excels at gaming and is capable of lasting two days on a charge. However, the camera performance is average and charging it back up takes a lot of time. If you prioritise speed and stamina over others, it's one of the best value phones you can get right now.
Pros
Excellent performance in the segment
Great battery endurance
Good software experience
Surprisingly good build quality
Cons
Average cameras
Persistent software bloat
144 Hz refresh rate is gimmicky
Realme's P-series consists of phones that are meant for the younger generation, delivering large batteries and impressive performance for the price. That's exactly the formula the brand has gone with on the latest Realme P4x. It's a new contender in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment, a price bracket that's usually filled with compromises. The Realme P4x attempts to shatter this norm with a large battery and a great processor in a chassis that looks and feels more expensive than it actually is, but is it enough? Let's find out in this Realme P4x review.

Realme P4x: Build and Design
- Dimensions: 166 x 76 x 8.4 mm
- Weight: 208 grams
- Protection: IP64 rating
Phones with 7,000mAh batteries are usually heavy, but like the Moto G57 Power, the Realme P4x is surprisingly sleek. At just 8.4 mm thick and 208 grams, it manages to feel substantial and not too much to hold at the same time. The weight distribution is handled well enough that it doesn't feel top-heavy.

The design is different from what's expected from Realme phones. In fact, hiding the logo, it's easy to mistake this for a Samsung phone due to the vertical camera alignment on the aluminium island. The silver variant we're reviewing looks very much like the upcoming Galaxy S26 from the back.

The matte black finish is smooth and does a brilliant job of restricting fingerprints. There's a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IP64 rating, and the phone is pretty sturdy overall.
Realme P4x: Display Quality
- 6.72-inch (2400 x 1080) FHD+ LCD panel 144 Hz refresh rate
- 91.4% Screen-to-body ratio
- 1,000 nits claimed brightness (970 nits tested)
The display on the Realme P4x may sound great on paper with a 144 Hz refresh rate, but in testing, the higher refresh rate felt like a gimmick. The UI mostly stayed at 120 Hz and even supported games capped out at 90Hz. For an LCD panel, it's surprisingly capable.

We measured the max brightness to cap out at 970 nits, close to the claimed numbers. The colours are decent, though they lack the punchiness of the AMOLED displays. The bezels are noticeably chunky and inconsistent. Multimedia consumption is aided by stereo speakers with an 80:20 separation. They get loud, and the audio is mostly crisp.
Realme P4x: Performance
The Realme P4x is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset, which, when combined with the 5,300mm2 Vapour Cooling chamber, offers excellent performance for the price. The 4x Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6 GHz make multitasking effortless. The phone scored 977,409 points in AnTuTu, leaving competitors like the Vivo T4x behind in raw CPU power.

As the 15-minute CPU throttling test reveals an impressive 93% stability, and thanks to the VC cooling system, temperatures barely touched 38 degrees even after heavy benchmarking. Therefore, games like BGMI had no issues at smooth + extreme settings, achieving around 90 FPS. CoD Mobile handles very high + Max graphics without stuttering, too.
Features like Geek Power Tuning and a dedicated AI Gaming Coach make it a legit budget gaming phone. Coupled with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, the overall performance is snappy and lag-free.
Realme P4x: Cameras Review
- 50 MP Main OV50D40 sensor (f/1.8)
- 2 MP depth sensor
- 8 MP selfie snapper
Unlike performance, the cameras of the Realme P4x fail to impress. Although we're throwing the plural term a bit too liberally here, there's technically only one capable camera.

The main camera takes good photos in daylight. The shots are crisp, the dynamic range is decent, and the colours are mostly warm. The details are well-preserved.

However, the lack of OIS hurts the nighttime performance of the phone, as the camera struggles to keep up. In moderate lighting, it's passable, but in very low light, the scene often becomes a muddy mess.

The 8 MP selfie snapper is serviceable. It captures natural skin tones, but when it comes to portraits, the blur effect is weak, and the edge detection can be a hit-or-miss. Video recording is nothing to write home about, and without OIS, you will need steady hands.

Realme P4x: Software
Although Realme UI 7.0 is officially out, the Realme P4x runs Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. The interface is mostly fluid, and the animations feel great. However, bloatware is very much present with Glance lock screen enabled by default and pre-installed apps like Facebook, Netflix, Snapchat and Spotify. While some are useful, the clutter is undeniable.

Realme promises two years of OS updates and three years of security updates, which is a decent commitment for a budget phone. The AI features are a nice touch with tools like AI Eraser, AI Unblur in the gallery.
Realme P4x: Battery and Charging
- 7,000mAh battery capacity
- 45W wired charging
This is the main highlight of the Realme P4x. In our rigorous testing loop involving benchmarks, gaming and camera usage, we were tired of draining the phone's battery at one point. The phone gave us 4.5 hours of screen-on-time and still had 55% battery remaining. For a regular user, it's easily a two-day phone.

While the charging speed is decent, it still took the phone over 90 minutes from 0–100%. It isn't the fastest, but considering the tank you're filling, it's acceptable. There's also support for bypass charging, which again is great for gamers.
Realme P4x Review: Should You Buy It?
The Realme P4x can run a long marathon at an excellent speed. It offers arguably the best battery life and gaming performance under Rs 15,000. The design is premium, and the thermal management is excellent.

However, if you like shooting photos, the experience is not the best. The lack of an ultrawide camera and average low-light output are clear compromises. But, if your priority is a phone that can game at 90 FPS and lasts for two days in a single charge, the Realme P4x offers an exquisite value.
