Apple has done something it has rarely ever done in its history: increasing the price of multiple devices. On June 25, 2026, the company quietly removed the pricing from multiple devices on its website, only to reintroduce them with hiked prices across Macs, iPads, Apple TV, Vision Pro and more. However, strangely enough, this price hike didn't affect any iPhones.
Apple Macbook, iPad, and Home Devices Get a Steep Price Hike

In a statement to the WSJ, Apple said, "We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly. We have shielded our customers from these increases so far, but we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices."
The Cupertino giant further added, "We know this is not welcome news and we are working tirelessly to find solutions," striking an apology of sorts to its customers. This is not a sudden decision. CEO Tim Cook warned about the price hike of Apple products last week in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
It goes without saying that this is a result of the ongoing global memory and RAM crisis, which has been affecting the entire smartphone industry. Memory makers such as Micron are prioritising orders for AI chips, leaving barely any supply for phones, tablets, and computers.
The iPhone Dodges the Bullet... for Now
What is even more surprising than the price hike is the fact that it has not affected Apple's most popular product category at all. Yes, I am talking about iPhones, which, for some mysterious reason, have been spared. Apple might still be bearing the rising cost of making an iPhone, shielding the customers for now.

The iPhone 16 and the iPhone 17 lineup are still currently available at their launch pricing globally. However, this seems like a short relief, as Apple cannot continue to bear the rising cost of memory and RAM chips.
It also makes me concerned for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the long rumoured iPhone Fold Ultra launching later this year.
New Prices for iPad, Mac, and Home Devices
Here are the previous and new prices of affected Mac, iPad, Apple TV, and HomePod speakers in India. The increases are very steep, with the 13-inch iPad Pro's price climbing by around Rs 70,000 and the Apple TV 4K nearly doubling.
| Product | Old Price | New Price |
|---|---|---|
| Mac Mini M4 Pro | Rs 1,49,900 | Rs 1,99,900 |
| MacBook Air M5 | Rs 1,20,900 | Rs 1,49,900 |
| Mac Mini M4 256GB | Rs 59,900 | Rs 94,900 |
| MacBook Neo | Rs 69,900 | Rs 79,900 |
| iPad 11th Gen | Rs 34,900 | Rs 49,900 |
| iPad mini | Rs 49,900 | Rs 69,900 |
| iPad Air M4 11" | Rs 64,900 | Rs 89,900 |
| iPad Air M4 13" | Rs 89,900 | Rs 1,19,900 |
| iPad Pro M5 11" | Rs 99,900 | Rs 1,39,900 |
| iPad Pro M5 13" | Rs 1,29,900 | Rs 1,99,900 |
| HomePod | Rs 32,900 | Rs 44,900 |
| HomePod mini | Rs 10,900 | Rs 15,900 |
| Apple TV 4K (128GB) | Rs 16,900 | Rs 31,900 |
| Apple TV 4K (64GB) | Rs 14,900 | Rs 25,900 |
Given that there does not seem to be an end to this memory shortage anytime soon, Apple may have little choice but to revise prices again. And if that happens, the iPhone may not escape the price hike.
