If you grew up rooting for a Hogwarts house, Realme wants you to know this phone was built with you in mind. The Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition launched in India, taking the standard Realme 16 Pro 5G and wrapping it in Warner Bros.' wizarding world, right down to the box it ships in. I spent some time with the special edition phone, and well, the Harry Potter fan in me is overjoyed.
The Magic Starts the Moment You Open Hogwarts Trunk
Realme has gone all-in on the presentation. The phone arrives inside a miniature Hogwarts-style trunk, complete with leather-look panels and metal trim.
It genuinely feels less like unboxing a smartphone and more like unwrapping a collector's item (which it kind of is). Only 5,000 units are being made worldwide, so Realme clearly wants this to feel exclusive rather than just another colourway.
Open the trunk and you get the phone itself, a matching Harry Potter-branded case and a colour-matched charging cable and adapter. Realme didn't stop there, as there's a house-customisable bookmark, character postcards, a faux Hogwarts acceptance letter and a Platform 9¾ train ticket.
There's even a Hedwig-shaped keychain tucked in alongside a themed Realme Buds T500 Pro Harry Potter Edition with its own carry lanyard. It's a lot of stuff, and almost all of it is genuinely well-made rather than feeling like cheap throw-ins.
The rear panel of the Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition comes in a deep Magic Brown finish with a leather-like texture and a subtle argyle pattern that nods to the Wizard's Chess sequence from the films.
A large Hogwarts crest sits front and centre, ringed with the house symbols and the school's Latin motto, and Realme hasn't tried to hide that this is a themed device. The crest is clearly the star of the back panel and not a discreet Easter egg.
Besides, the camera module gets its own treatment too with two circular sensor rings shaped to echo Hedwig's eyes, set against a gold-toned deco that pops nicely against the brown back.
Flip the phone on its side, and "Welcome to Hogwarts" is engraved into the frame. It's a small touch, but one that adds to the feeling that this was actually designed around the theme rather than stickered onto an existing phone.

Software Gets Some Harry Potter Magic Too
Realme has carried the theming into Realme UI 7.0 (running on Android 16), with a customised Hogwarts Castle wallpaper and reskinned app icons.
Meanwhile, a red telephone booth stands in for the Phone app, a quill for Notes and the Hogwarts crest for Phone Manager. Even the Clock app icon and the lock screen animation get a Potter-flavoured makeover.

If you're the kind of Harry Potter fan who'd frame a boarding pass to Platform 9¾, the presentation alone justifies the price. Everyone else will likely be better served by the standard model.
