MediaTek unveiled the mid-range Dimensity 7100 processor in early January 2026, but due to the rising RAM costs, brands have stuck with either Dimensity 6300/6400 or slightly more expensive Dimensity 7300/7400 chipsets. AI+ could change that as it has confirmed to use Dimensity 7100 in one of its upcoming phones.
Dimensity 7100-Powered Phone Coming to India
The confirmation comes from the CEO of Ai+, Madhav Seth, who posted on X earlier today that one of Ai+'s upcoming products will use the Dimensity 7100 processor. Alongside the confirmation, Seth is also inviting influencers to test the chipset's performance at the brand's office before the launch.

While a specific smartphone was not named in the post, the context surrounding the brand's current release cycle provides a clear indicator of where the processor is headed. Ai+ teased Nova 2 Pro 5G and Nova 2 Neo 5G smartphones, and the processor will likely power at least one or both of the smartphones.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7100 was launched earlier this year. It is an octa-core processor made on TSMC's 6nm process. It uses the ARMv8.2-A instruction set with 4x Cortex-A78 cores and 4x Cortex-A55 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.4 GHz. It's proclaimed to be a successor of the Dimensity 7050 chipset.
For those unaware, the Nova 2 Pro 5G is being marketed as a performance and camera-centric smartphone, whereas the Nova 2 Pro Neo 5G is expected to be a slightly affordable offering. Details about the phone's specifications are currently unknown

That said, Ai+ recently unveiled the Nova 2 Ultra and Pulse 2 smartphones, alongside a slew of wearables such as TWS earbuds, WearBuds smartwatch and a foldable flip phone, the Ai+ NovaFlip 5G. The latter is a rebadged Nubia Flip 2, which launched in China in 2025.
While the launch date of Ai+'s upcoming smartphones is unknown, considering the brand has already started teasing the smartphones, the launch appears to be close. That said, we can also expect these smartphones to be priced aggressively to appeal to budget to mid-range smartphone buyers who demand the best bang for their buck. More information should be revealed as we inch closer to launch.
