At the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, India, Bharti Airtel has showcased its AI-driven digital initiatives and infrastructure for 'Digital Bharat. Viksit Bharat'. A large chunk of the presentation was dedicated to "The Safe Network" solution that Airtel has deployed to combat telecom fraud. It was the first network operator in India to leverage AI in real-time fraud detection and prevention. With various initiatives like OTP Scam Fraud Alert and incoming call screening, Airtel has managed to analyse traffic patterns and behavioural signals at the network level.

Sunil Bharti Mittal also shared a comprehensive AI datasheet revealing that Airtel has managed to flag over 71 billion spam calls and 2.9 billion spam messages since 2024. The telecom operator has successfully blocked over 800,000 malicious links, translating to 30,000 fraud attempts per day.
In the past two years, Airtel's Safe Network has managed to reduce cybercrime complaints by 14.3%, with a staggering 68.7% reduction in financial fraud. A large chunk of this is also attributed to Airtel's B2B spam prevention “Business Name Display” feature, which has allowed enterprises across India to deploy network APIs aimed at correctly identifying the business name and details for the customers.

Moreover, apart from its fraud prevention AI network solutions, Mittal also highlighted Bharti Airtel's continuous efforts to better the digital and creative experiences of its customers. Through IPTV & Glance AI, Airtel has successfully transformed idle television screens into an AI-powered smart content engagement platform.
The brand also highlighted the fact that it recently partnered with Adobe to bring free Adobe Express Premium access for 12 months, worth Rs 4,000, to its customers. It has rolled out the benefits to Airtel mobile, Wi-Fi and DTH customers, especially targeting students, small businesses and professionals.

On the infrastructure and deployment side, Airtel also shared its active investment commitment to build AI-ready solutions to handle the growing demand for AI-driven tasks in India. With Airtel Cloud, Mittal emphasised that the operator has built a robust architecture specifically designed to handle AI workloads and real-time analytics.
He further highlighted that Airtel Cloud is built as a Sovereign Cloud solution with full data residency and operational control remaining within India. With its combined AI and network infra solution, Airtel has reportedly achieved 40% net savings compared to traditional AI infra models.
Airtel concluded its India AI Impact Summit 2026 by talking about its AI data centre arm, Nxtra. Mittal added that Nxtra is India's largest network intelligence data centre and is the country's only data centre operator to deploy AI for predictive maintenance and operational automation.

Nextra's infrastructure includes 14 core centres across major metro cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Chennai. It also operates with 120 edge centres in over 65 Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Even though Nxtra spans nationwide, Mittal has highlighted Airtel's serious commitment to sustainability.
He has added that Airtel is a member of Climate Group's global corporate RE100 initiative and runs Nxtra on 100% renewable energy. The platform aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2031. Lastly, Airtel also gave an overview of its enterprise-grade security platform with a Zero Trust architecture and an AI-driven Security Operations Centre (iSOC) for 24/7 monitoring.
