Apple is reportedly preparing one of the most radical iPhone redesigns in years. A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station is now suggesting that the Cupertino giant's 20th anniversary iPhone could debut with a "micro-curved" display.
Apple Tipped to Adopt "Micro-Curved" OLED for Anniversary iPhone
As per the tipster, Apple is working with Samsung to develop a custom OLED panel that features a quad-curved design, meaning the display would subtly curve on all four sides.
Unlike the aggressively curved "waterfall" screens seen on some earlier flagships, the latest leak points to a more restrained "micro-curved" approach, with shallow, equal-depth curves aimed at preserving usability while achieving a near bezel-less look.

The same leak also suggests Apple is exploring a "pol-less" OLED structure, which removes the traditional polarising layer used in current displays.
This could help make the display thinner, improve brightness and reduce power consumption. All of these are key requirements for enabling a tightly curved design without compromising efficiency.
This falls in line with previous leaks, which suggested that iPhone 18 could use Samsung's brightest OLED display. Moreover, even the iPhone Air 2 is said to feature Samsung Display's advanced CoE OLED technology.
Not to mention that a recent report also revealed the iPhone Fold display could be a Samsung OLED panel as well.
The broader aim appears to be a truly uninterrupted, all-screen iPhone, something Apple has been gradually working toward for years. Further, this aligns with previous leaks, which suggested the brand is planning major iPhone redesigns for the next three years.
If these rumours hold true, the 20th anniversary iPhone could serve as a milestone iPhone, much like the iPhone X did back in 2017. 2027 will mark Apple's 20th anniversary and that's precisely when we could see this special iPhone go official.
