Reports of a potential iPhone Fold delay may have raised concerns, but a new update brings clarity. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is still on track to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026 despite ongoing engineering challenges.
Apple Still On Track For iPhone Fold 2026 Launch
In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman reassures that Apple will introduce the iPhone Fold at its fall September 2026 event as expected. He has stated that while it is true that Apple has hit a roadblock due to persistent engineering setbacks, the Cupertino brand is not pushing the iPhone Fold launch timeline further.

The report further states that while the current production line issues are not expected to delay the iPhone Fold launch, they will certainly become difficult for Apple to meet production targets. It was reported that Apple will produce 7 million to 8 million iPhone Folds for sale by year's end. However, that appears to be impossible now.
Moreover, with production costs on the higher side and limited output, the burden might fall directly onto the consumer. Initial iPhone Fold variants and their pricing estimates suggested a starting price of $2,300 (approximately Rs 2,32,000). Now, Gurman states that due to limited supply, the iPhone Fold could debut for as much as $3,000 (approximately Rs 2,77,000). If true, this will make the iPhone Fold the most expensive Apple iPhone yet.
That said, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone Fold alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. As it is with Apple, it doesn't tease or confirm details about its upcoming phones till the day of announcement. Hence, we can only speculate at the time of writing and urge our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt.
