Apple's September 9 event is finally underway! Apple is taking the wraps off its latest hardware devices at the "Surprise and Shine" launch event in Cupertino today. This is the first keynote hosted by the new Apple CEO John Ternus, and there's a lot to unpack. From the latest iPhone 18 Pro models and the first foldable iPhone Duo to the new AirPods 5 and Apple Watch 12 and Ultra 4 upgrades, here's everything Apple announced at its biggest launch event of 2026.
iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max
The keynote kicked off with the unveiling of the iPhone 18 Pro series. This includes the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, both of which bring improvements to the battery, camera, and performance.
Both models are powered by the new Apple A20 Pro chipset, which is capable of powering the new Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features. The Neural Engine cores have been doubled to 32 cores to enable these AI capabilities.
The Apple A20 Pro is based on the 2nm process node this time around. It includes a 6-core CPU with two new super cores, along with a 7-core GPU and a new 3x-larger vapor chamber. Both Apple phones also bring bigger batteries, offering 24 hours and 30 hours of battery life on a single charge.
iPhone 18 Pro series has a new 48MP Fusion main camera with a variable aperture. Both Pro models also bring Pro controls, including white balance, aperture, shutter speed, and more.
Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have a smaller dynamic island, which now shows three activities at once if active. And as expected, both phones will arrive with the latest iOS
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max colours are Black, Silver, Glacier, and Burgundy. iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, whereas the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 for the 256GB base variant. As for the Indian pricing, the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max start at Rs 1,64,900 and Rs 1,79,900, respectively.
The pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro series start on Saturday, September 12, and the phones go on sale September 18.

iPhone Duo Foldable
Apple has unveiled its much-awaited foldable iPhone, officially dubbed the iPhone Duo. It is the thinnest iPhone ever when opened, with an aerospace titanium frame, a creaseless foldable screen, and a new under-screen camera for FaceTime on the inside display.
There is a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR display on the outside. Whereas a larger 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display is available on the inside, covered with a nano texture layer to reduce glare and scratches and improve durability. As for the cameras, you have a 48MP Fusion Camera and a 48MP ultra-wide camera on the back, along with an 18MP selfie camera on the outside.
Touch ID is back with the iPhone Duo foldable. The Touch ID sensor is integrated into the power button on the right edge, and you can register multiple fingers for easy access. The foldable iPhone is powered by the same Apple A20 Pro chipset as the iPhone 18 Pro series, along with the Apple C2 modem.
iOS 27 has been upgraded to adapt to the new form factor. The essential controls have been moved to the right edge for easier reachability and more space to view content. There is split-view multitasking support on iPhone Duo, similar to the iPad.
The foldable iPhone is eSIM-only worldwide, along with two battery packs on either side. You can achieve up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge when using both displays.
Apple iPhone Duo comes in two colourways: Star White and Night Sky, and is priced at $1,999 in the US. The foldable iPhone will be available to pre-order from October 16, with sales kicking off October 23. The iPhone Duo is priced starting at Rs 2,99,999 in India.

Apple AirPods 5
The Apple AirPods 5 also come in two versions this time around: AirPods 5 and AirPods 5 with wireless charging and volume swipe control.
AirPods 5 now offers Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) in an open-ear design, while using a redesigned acoustic chamber. The transparency mode has also been improved.
AirPods 5 now support an IP57 dust and water resistance rating, making the new models more durable than their predecessors. As for battery life, the standard AirPods 5 offer 4 hours of listening time and the model with volume control extends it to 5 hours.
AirPods 5 are priced at $129 in the US, but you will need to spend an additional $20, i.e. $149, if you want volume swipe controls and wireless charging.

Apple Watch 12 and Ultra 4
The latest Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 have been unveiled at the Apple Event 2026. The biggest highlight of these new smartwatches is the new and upgraded Health Sensing system. Both watches come with new optical and electrical heart sensors to offer the 'most accurate heart sensing in a wearable,' as per Apple.
The Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are powered by the new Apple S11 chip, with features derived from the Apple A20 Pro.
The Health app has been redesigned to go along with the health and fitness upgrades. The new app will start rolling out later this year for English (US) users.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 come with a set of new Audio Intelligence features, combining the onboard microphones with the brand's AI features. These features will become available in beta later this year in English.
Apple Watch Series 12 is available in three colour options: Black, Light Gold, and Dark Bronze. It is also available in two titanium finishes: Radiant Gold and Titanium, along with two new ceramic finishes: Pearl White and Night Blue.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 is available in Natural and Black Titanium colour options.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are now available to pre-order at $399 and $799 respectively. Both watches will be available to purchase on September 18.
