It's been a while since Fitbit transitioned into the new Google Health platform and Google is now deploying a massive wave of updates to its redesigned app. The new Google Health app addresses persistent bugs found in the Public Preview and focuses on fixing cross-device syncing issues and enhancing its AI-powered health coach.
Google Health Updates to Fix Fitbit Sync Issues and Improve AI Coach
After the Google Health 5.0 update rolled out last week, the brand has now highlighted an extensive list of all the bug fixes and improvements coming to Google Health soon. The announcement highlights everything coming to the app from the Google Health Coach improvements to Exercise Tracking, Nutrition tracking, Sleep tracking improvements and bug fixes.

Starting with one of the most critical fixes to roll out later, Google has confirmed it will soon resolve a bug that caused incomplete TCX workout exports. This issue bubbled up when multiple apps were connected to Google Health, causing sync issues with apps failing to separate overlapping data from the new Fitbit Air.
On the nutrition front, Google is working on a similar fix, which caused food logs to overlap with integrations like MyFitnessPal and Health Connect. Many Pixel Watch users reported inconsistent energy burned stats, and that is also being fixed. This is followed by restoring missing Sleep Scores with a 24-hour sleep view that combines nighttime rest with daytime naps into a single metric.
That said, one of the major improvements coming to the app is in the AI-driven Google Health coach, which is about to get smarter. Google is making changes to the same to deliver more concise metrics and messages in the Today tab. Users have reported the coach being a bit more invasive, but that is being addressed. Users will be able to log metrics directly through the Ask Coach feature.
There are expected to be a lot more minor bug fixes and user interface improvements as well, alongside easier account migration and support. While Google didn't give us the exact release timeline of when these improvements will roll out, considering the impact they will create, they might roll out in the coming weeks.
