Pixel's Canary affair is moving forward with a new Canary 2611 update. Besides reinstating a familiar feature, the update also brings multitasking improvements, a new Quick Settings tile and more.
First announced on the Android Canary subreddit, the latest Canary 2611 update is rolling out to Pixel 6a and newer Pixel smartphones. It carries build number ZP11.261016.008 and is about 1 GB.

The update gets the Canary channel up to speed with the latest additions to the Android 17 QPR3 Beta 3 update. It brings back App Lock. It also adds a new floating-bubbles shortcut to launch apps in bubbles directly from the Recents screen.
Lastly, the Quick Settings tile gains a dedicated Camera tile, and the lock screen's At a Glance widget now explicitly displays AM or PM suffixes for upcoming alarms.

Users already on the previous Canary build, i.e., 2610, can head over to Settings -> System -> Software updates and tap on System update and Check for updates. Those on stable or Beta versions would need to manually flash the 2611 build using the Android Flash Tool.
Users are advised to charge their Google Pixel phones to at least 50% before initiating the update. Once downloaded, restarting the phone will boot it into the Canary 2611 update.
The next big milestone for Google Pixel will be the December Pixel Feature Drop update, which will be based on the Android 17 QPR2 release.
With Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7.1 being the latest update, users can expect a couple more updates before the stable release, leading to the December drop. Until then, stay tuned.
