Honor appears to be prepping an iPhone Air competitor in the name of Magic 8 Pro Air, as the brand has started teasing a new smartphone. The information comes from none other than the brand's president himself, who teased a mysterious phone that combines the Pro and Air characteristics.
Honor Magic 8 Pro Air Launch could be just around the corner
Honor's president, Fang Fei, posted on her official Weibo account, wishing fans a year that's "increasingly Pro" and "increasingly Air". While doing so, she mentioned that a smartphone with these two traits is in the pipeline. Rumours suggest the phone could be called the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air.

While not much is known about the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air, the goal seems to be to offer the high-end capabilities of a Pro variant in a chassis that's thinner and lighter, just like the iPhone Air.
Industry observers speculate that Honor could launch it as early as January 2026, and a full release is expected to happen in February 2026. This would place its arrival just ahead of the Honor Power 2, which is expected to arrive with a 10,000mAh battery.

Speaking of which, Honor has been killing it in terms of silicon-carbon batteries, with the Honor WIN featuring a 10,000mAh battery. Therefore, despite the Magic 8 Pro Air boasting a similar thinness to the iPhone Air, we expect it to boast a much larger battery, potentially upwards of 5,000mAh.
More information about the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air and its specifications should be unveiled as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
