The wide-foldable form factor is quickly becoming the next big trend in the foldable market, with Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple (with the upcoming iPhone Ultra) all embracing the design. Now, Honor appears ready to join them, with its first wide-foldable phone reportedly arriving next year.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Honor Wide Foldable is tentatively scheduled for a Q1 2027 launch in China. He also adds that the brand may debut the hardware just before the Chinese Spring Festival.

Beyond the launch timeline, the tipster notes that the handset will be driven by a cutting-edge 2nm Snapdragon processor, likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series. For those unaware, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series will be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit 2026 event on September 22.

The leak doesn't tell us the exact processor that will power the phone. However, it will presumably come with the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 to likely compensate for its late entry into the category.

This release timeline builds on the already leaked specifications of Honor's upcoming foldable. Notably, the smartphone is expected to get a 7.6-inch inner folding screen alongside a 5.5-inch external cover display. Fueling the internals could be a massive 7,000mAh battery.

Optics-wise, the phone could feature a 200 MP primary camera on a horizontal camera island. Finally, Honor's foldable may come in at 9,999 Chinese yuan (Rs 1,41,000). This could give it leverage over the expected $2000 (approximately Rs 2,00,000) and above price of the iPhone Ultra.

While Honor is yet to comment on the exact launch date and timeline of the wide foldable's release, more information about it should surface as we gradually transition into 2027, so stay tuned.
