Honor appears to be expanding its Win gaming lineup beyond smartphones and laptops. According to a new leak from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the company is currently working on a compact gaming tablet that could launch as the Honor Win Pad Mini.

Honor Win Pad Mini Could Feature an 8-Inch OLED Display

The upcoming tablet is said to feature an approximately 8-inch OLED display with ultra-narrow bezels and an ultra-high refresh rate. It appears Honor is aiming to please gamers who prefer a smaller and more portable form factor.

The upcoming tablet is also tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite-series chipset, putting flagship-level performance at the helm. However, the exact processor is currently under wraps, but we expect it to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

While the final Honor Win Pad Mini specifications remain discreet, the leak claims the Win Pad Mini could pack the largest battery among compact tablets currently available. If true, that would give Honor a strong advantage in a category where battery life often takes a backseat to portability.

The timing of this leak is also rather interesting, given how Chinese smartphone brands are increasingly embracing the compact tablet segment. Recent launches as Huawei's MatePad Mini and the Oppo Pad Mini show growing interest in smaller tablets that combine flagship performance with easier one-handed usage.

From a gaming perspective, the combination of an OLED high-refresh-rate panela and Snapdragon 8 Elite-class chipset sounds promising. The compact 8-inch size could also make the upcoming tablet particularly appealing for mobile gamers who want a more immersive experience than a smartphone without carrying around a full-sized tablet.
