Qualcomm’s annual Hawaii getaway is back, and this year, it’s bringing more than one flagship chipset. While Qualcomm has traditionally unveiled one flagship Snapdragon processor each year, Snapdragon Summit 2026 is expected to bring two, including the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

When is Snapdragon Summit 2026?
The Snapdragon Summit runs from September 22 to September 24, 2026, in Maui, Hawaii. Day one is expected to focus heavily on mobile platforms and Qualcomm's vision for the "agentic AI" era. Since Hawaii is a long way from India, the keynotes fall in the middle of the night here.

What to Expect from Snapdragon Summit 2026
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro are the headline acts, though the higher-end one may launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Final names are still unofficial.
Qualcomm has already spilled a lot of the architecture ahead of the keynote. Here's what's confirmed:
- Qualcomm says its next Oryon CPU hits 5 GHz, a first for a phone and above the 4.74GHz peak of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. It uses two Prime and six Performance cores, adds higher IPC and introduces Oryon FlexCache, a shared cache pool that keeps more data close to the cores.
- Adreno Neural Fusion combines neural processing, AI super resolution and AI frame generation in one graphics pipeline. It runs on new Adreno Matrix Cores, the first AI-dedicated cores in an Adreno GPU, backed by 18 MB of on-chip memory. It's already integrated into Unity and Unreal Engine, so studios don't need custom implementations.
- Qualcomm's next-gen Hexagon NPU adds an Element Accelerator for transformer workloads and a 50% larger shared memory. It's designed around mixture-of-experts models. Qualcomm's example is a 30-billion-parameter model that activates only about 3 billion parameters per token. For INT4 models, it claims up to 50% faster prefill.
Apart from this, here are some details that leaks and reports claim about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipsets:
- Both chipsets are said to be based on TSMC's 2nm process.
- The Pro (or Extreme) chipset could sport an Adreno 850 GPU, while the standard could get an Adreno 845
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could feature LPDDR6 support, UFS 5.0, the X105 modem, Wi-Fi 8 and Bluetooth 7.0.
Xiaomi, iQOO and OnePlus are among the brands that could be adopting the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. Reports name the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, OnePlus 16 and Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra as likely early adopters of the higher-end chip. The iQOO 16 and Honor Magic 9 series are also expected to use the Pro chipset.
