Huawei has launched its latest FreeClip TWS earbuds in India today, on July 11, 2025. Unlike traditional earbuds, these earbuds feature an open-ear design with 10.8mm dynamic drivers and up to 36 hours of playback time and gesture and motion controls. Here's a look at all the features, pricing and availability details of the FreeClip earbuds.
Huawei FreeClip Specifications and Features
Kicking this off with the design and build, the Huawei FreeClips feature an open-ear design with a C-shaped connector, made out of "high-performance Ni-Ti shape-memory alloy". This design features the acoustic module (comfort bean) in the front with a separated battery module (cavum concha).

Since it is an open-ear TWS, there are no ear tips attached to the front module. The battery and other components are housed within the rear module. It resembles the look of an earring when attached to the ears. These earbuds are housed within an oval charging case and are also dust and water protected with an IP54 rating.
Coming to the sound quality, the FreeClips are equipped with 10.8 mm dynamic drivers with Huawei's enhanced dynamic bass algorithm. Huawei claims that even though the earbuds feature an open-ear design, the sound leakage has been kept to the minimum.

Huawei is using something called a reverse sound wave system that intelligently adapts to the surroundings based on how the earbuds are positioned in the ear. For instance, users can either opt for the standard wearing position or tilt the earbuds downward so that the speaker unit is close to the ear canal.
Obviously, there is no Active Noise Cancellation but Huawei claims that this design maximises the sound output for the user, while keeping background disruptions and leakage to a minimum.
Additionally, the earbuds feature a triple microphone array with a talk mic, a VPU mic and a windproof mic. This arrangement, paired with Huawei's multi-channel deep neural network (DNN) algorithm, achieves an almost noise-free calling and music listening experience.

Each earbud is encased with a 55mAh battery, while the charging case has a 510mAh cell. In terms of battery life, the FreeClip can last for up to 36 hours with continuous music playback and calls. The earbuds themselves can last for up to 8 hours on a single charge.
And speaking of charging, Huawei claims that a 10-minute charge can deliver up to 3 hours of listening time. It also supports 2W wireless charging.

Apart from this, the earbuds come with several gesture controls for music play/pause and call accept/reject. The FreeClip earbuds also support head gesture controls. A nod forward and backward will accept calls, meanwhile a sideward shake will reject calls.

In terms of connectivity, there is Bluetooth support as well as Huawei app support for both Android and iOS. There is a dedicated fall detection to alert user alongside support for audio sharing. Additionally, there's a dedicated AI Life app enables AI-based features for the Huawei earbuds that are tied into the Huawei ecosystem of devices like smartphones, smartwatches and tablets.
