Huawei is prepping its next generation of mid-range smartphones, the Nova 16 series, and it's right around the corner. The smartphones now have an official release date and are all set to debut in China soon. The Huawei Nova 16 series is expected to blend great specifications at a price that won't burn a hole in buyers' pockets.
Huawei Nova 16 Series China Launch Date Confirmed for June 1
The official Huawei Weibo account has finally announced the Nova 16 series launch date, which will be held on June 1, 2026, at 2:30 PM CST (or 12:00 PM IST) in China. The phone is expected to launch alongside the Huawei MatePad Pro Max tablet and the Supernova smartwatch, both of which have already been tipped before.
Alongside the official teasers, Huawei also unveiled posters of the Nova 16 Pro's Sky Blue finish. The design features a white wavy accent laid on top of the sky blue colour, which is actually closer to the blue water shade of a swimming pool. The phone also has a distinct camera module with two circular discs housing a triple-camera setup and an LED flash.
While the specifications have been under wraps, industry reports indicate that the lineup will consist of the Huawei Nova 16, Nova 16 Pro and Nova 16 Pro Max. The brand appears to be skipping the Ultra model this year.
As for the specifications, the top-tier Pro Max variant is expected to arrive with a 6.84-inch 1.5K LTPO display, a Kirin 9000 series chipset and a 9,000mAh battery. The rear camera is expected to include a 200 MP 1/1.28-inch snapper, accompanied by a periscope telephoto lens and a multispectral sensor. Given the monikers, the Nova 16 Pro should boast nearly the same specs but with a smaller display.
While the information about other variants is scarce, more information about them should be revealed as we inch closer to launch. Until then, stay tuned.
