Alongside the Nova 16s series launch in Germany, Huawei has announced the Huawei Watch D3, their newest wearable made specifically for active blood pressure monitoring. It's the brand's third-generation smartwatch in the health-centred D series, and it comes with a dedicated inflatable cuff for tracking blood pressure trends throughout the day.

Huawei Watch D3 Specifications and Features

Starting off with its biggest highlight, the Huawei Watch D3 features an ambulatory blood pressure monitoring system that features a high-precision sensor and a mechanical airbag cushion built within the wearable's band. The brand claims this system supports medical-grade pressure monitoring and can track resting BP, pre-exercise and post-exercise BP and ABPM measurements across 24 hours.

Besides this, the Watch D3 can monitor heart rate trends and generate detailed health insights, even during sleep. Huawei has also packed intelligent reminders to alert users about sudden changes in the surroundings like temperature drops or high altutudes and can tell users when to hold off on intense workouts.

The Watch D3 also packs a PPG sensor for timely A-fib alerts and an ECG sensor to take beat-by-beat electrocardiogram measurements. There's a Health Glance feature that can display 11 key biometric insights based on your blood pressure, heart rate and SpO2 levels.

Moving on, the Huawei Watch D3 sports a 1.92-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with 480 x 408 pixels resolution and 3,000 nits peak brightness. This is housed inside an aluminium chassis that is 11.3 mm in thickness and 40 grams in weight. It features a rotating crown and a Function button that also doubles as an ECG contact sensor.

The Watch D3 comes with a 540mAh battery that Huawei claims can last users up to 6 days with typical use. It's protected by an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 6, GPS and NFC, and the watch can be paired with both iPhones and Android devices as long as they run iOS 13, Android 8 or newer versions.
