iQOO 16T Could Be Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Chipset
As per reliable leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, the upcoming iQOO 16T is being internally tested with a "normal refinement" over the iQOO 15T. The phone reportedly features a 2nm SM8950 processor, which could launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 at the upcoming Snapdragon Summit 2026 event.
Alternatively, DCS says that iQOO is also considering using a "DX6" SoC, which could be the 2nm Dimensity 9600 processor. This will make more sense since the iQOO 15T launched with the Dimensity 9500 chipset.
Moreover, the tipster also claims that the phone will feature a 2K Samsung-made flat AMOLED display. While exact details are not known yet, it seems like the brand is planning to use the same display as the iQOO 15T.
In response to a user's comment enquiring if the display is the same as the iQOO 16, DCS claims that the brand will most likely use the "previous generation Samsung 2K screen". This could imply that iQOO may be reusing the iQOO 15T panel.
For context, the iQOO 15T features a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display, which is borrowed from the iQOO 15. Hence, the iQOO 16T could feature the same display as the iQOO 15 and iQOO 15T.
Another interesting observation is the leaker claiming that the iQOO 16T will feature a built-in cooling fan. This was missing from the iQOO 15T, as the physical cooling fan was reserved for the beefed-up iQOO 15 Ultra.
However, with reports claiming that the iQOO 16 Ultra has been skipped for 2027, it makes sense to add an advanced cooling system to the iQOO 16T. Apart from these details, nothing else is known about the upcoming phone at the moment. This is also the first time the iQOO 16T has surfaced via the rumour mill.
