Summary

  • The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset has reportedly appeared on Geekbench 6.
  • This SoC managed to hit over 3,900 and 11,000 points in the single-core and multi-core scores, respectively.
  • The processor will likely feature an 8-core CPU architecture with the Immortalis-Drage GPU and 100TOPS NPU.

MediaTek is expected to announce its next flagship mobile SoC, the Dimensity 9500, in the coming months. And the ongoing rumour mill has already given a good idea about the expected specifications of the chipset. And now, a new report has given us a glimpse into the early Geekbench scores of the Dimensity 9500 SoC.

Prolific leaker Digital Chat Station spotted the early Geekbench 6 benchmark results of the upcoming Dimensity 9500 SoC and took to Weibo to share the same. As far as scores are concerned, the chipset managed to achieve over 3,900 points in the single-core test. Meanwhile, it goes beyond the 11,000 points in the multi-core test.

The scores are significantly higher compared to last year's Dimensity 9400 Geekbench 6 results. We took a look at the Vivo X200 Pro's Geekbench scores on the database and they hit only around 2,900 and 8,700 points in single-core and multi-core, respectively.

On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra scores over 3,000 points in the single-core test and around 9,800 points in multi-core, which is still much lower than the Dimensity 9500.

So, we can expect the Dimensity 9500 to be on par, if not better than the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC, which is scheduled to arrive between September 23 and 25 at the 2025 Snapdragon Summit.

Early reports suggested that the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 will also be based on TSMC's third-generation 3nm node. It is also expected to come with an 8-core CPU architecture comprising 1x Travis core, 3x Alto cores, and 4x Gelas cores. The Travis and Alto cores are based on the latest Arm Cortex-X9 line. While the Gelas cores are derived from Arm's A7 series.

Lastly, the SoC is speculated to feature the Immortalis-Drage GPU with 16 MB of L3 cache,10 MB of system-level cache, and up to 100TOPS NPU 9.0 computing power. Devices featuring this chipset will be able to sport 4-channel LPDDR5x RAM and a 4-lane interface USB 4.1 storage.

With that being said, neither the SoC nor the devices that will sport this SoC have been confirmed. However, a previous leak hinted at a preponed launch timeline for the same. Even earlier than the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. In terms of devices, the Vivo X300 series and the Oppo Find X9 series are the most likely contenders to feature the Dimensity 9500 SoC.
