Following the Nothing OS 5.0 stable release for the Nothing Phone 3 earlier this month, the update is now rolling out to the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro. The update introduces a refreshed interface alongside a dedicated Glyph app, separate Quick Settings and notifications panels and more.
Nothing OS 5.0 Stable Update for Nothing Phone 4a Series: What's New
According to the official changelogs shared on the Nothing Community, the Nothing Phone 4a is receiving the C5.0-261023-2145 firmware version. Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro is getting the C5.0-261021-1625 build.

Both updates bring largely identical features and improvements. Starting with personalisation, Nothing has introduced a new Translucent theme for the launcher, featuring a frosted-glass appearance with subtle wallpaper-inspired accent colours.
Users can also customise the colour of their lock screen clock face and choose between two new clock styles.
The Nothing OS 5.0 stable update for the Nothing Phone 4a series also brings a dedicated Glyph app, making it easier to access and manage the Glyph Interface features.
Additionally, users can now separate the notification panel and Quick Settings, arrange multiple home screen icons in bulk and use a three-colour status bar indicator to identify sensitive activities, including location access and AI processing.

There are also two new widgets called Collector and Away Time. While the former lets users turn their favourite photos into decorative home screen elements, the latter tracks their screen-free time. The Glyph Timer is also accessible directly from the widget drawer.
On the camera front, Nothing OS 5.0 adds Dual-view Video, allowing users to record using the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
Nothing has also improved video recording, zoom, close-up photography, QR scanning, Google Lens and Motion Photo playback, alongside a refreshed Camera app interface.
Other additions include an expanded Dark Theme that applies dark mode to more unsupported apps, customisable HDR brightness and Noto 3D Emoji in Gboard. There are also faster Essential Voice transcriptions and improved Bluetooth controls.
The update also brings the new Geist typeface, refined system animations and an updated Settings interface.

I went hands-on with the Nothing OS 5.0 a while back, so you can check out my personal experience with the software and decide for yourself if you should update or not.
