Sticking to the promised rollout timeline, Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta is now available for the Nothing Phone 4a, Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro. The latest Android 17-based update is now available for beta testers to download and install, bringing the latest Nothing OS to mid-range Nothing phones.
Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta Live for Phone 4a, Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro
The official Nothing community forum has confirmed that the Android 17-based Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta update is now available for the Nothing Phone 4a, Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro. This makes these Nothing phones the third batch of the beta release.
For those unaware, Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta for Phone 4a Pro went live last month, following the debut of Nothing OS 5.0 with the Nothing Phone 3.
Nothing is expanding the Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta globally, with the exception of Japan. The company notes that Open Beta is not available for users in Japan due to pending local certification.
Also, the brand says that the refreshed home screen look is not included in the Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta yet. Both the refreshed home screen and Micrographics clock face are set to arrive with the Nothing OS 5.0 general release.
Also, the Essential Apps Builder is in early beta with the Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta update and Essential Space updates are rolling out separately through Google Play. Lastly, Essential Voice is set to gain real-time translation later this year.

How to Install Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta?
Nothing Phone 4a, Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro users can try out the new Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta update by downloading the Nothing Beta Hub v2.0 app. After that, users will need to head to Settings -> System -> Nothing Beta Hub and tap on Check version.
Nothing warns against installing Beta updates, as they may contain bugs that could hinder the user experience. Rolling back to Nothing OS 4.1 will result in a data wipe. Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta access channel will stay open for 7 days.
