  • The OmniVision OVB0D has reportedly been announced as a 1/1.1-inch 200 MP sensor.
  • The sensor is said to be built on a 22nm process with dual on-chip remosaic, upgraded DCG/LOFIC.
  • Other OmniVision OVB0D specs include a 400K full well capacity and 108dB dynamic range.

After Sony and Samsung, it looks like OmniVision will join the 200 MP camera sensor race. Apparently, the OmniVision OVB0D has been silently announced and could potentially power a bunch of 2026 flagships' camera setups.

OmniVision OVB0D is a 1/1.1-inch 200 MP camera sensor

As per early information shared on the Korean community platform Meeco by reliable tipster Ice Universe, the OBV0D is built on a 1/1.1-inch optical format and uses advanced 22nm process technology. It reportedly supports dual on-chip remosaic, second-generation DCG and LOFIC.

Additionally, it also offers a high full capacity of 400K alongside a wide 108dB dynamic range. These upgrades suggest improvements in low-light performance, colour accuracy and overall imaging versatility.

Surprisingly, this report comes right after the Sony LYT-901 200 MP camera sensor was announced. Not too long ago, the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 also went official as a 200 MP sensor. It seems like OmniVision is planning on taking the fight straight to the top dogs in the game.

It appears that the OmniVision OBV0D 200 MP sensor is targeted at true flagship-level camera systems. While the brand hasn't issued a public press release or announcement yet, the sensor is expected to appear in upcoming high-end smartphones from major Chinese OEMs. More details, including confirmed devices and more, should surface in the coming months, so stay tuned.
