OnePlus' next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, is already in the works. It is expected to go official by early 2026. Ahead of that, OnePlus President Li Jie Louis has revealed an interesting detail regarding the display of the smartphone.
He took to Weibo that the "upcoming OnePlus products will usher in the next era" with ultra-high refresh rates. He claims that OnePlus will lead the industry in terms of refresh rates and expects other brands to follow suit.

While Louis has not explicitly mentioned the name of the smartphone which will debut with this high refresh rate, early speculations hint at the OnePlus 15. A few weeks back, leaker Digital Chat Station claimed that OnePlus 15 will feature 165 Hz refresh rate. The current post from OnePlus President, all but confirms the same.
If true, the upcoming number series flagship from the brand will become the first ever OnePlus smartphone to offer 165 Hz refresh rate. For context, the previous generation OnePlus 13 features only 120 Hz refresh rate.

This increase in refresh rate will surely help OnePlus deliver a flagship-level gaming, scrolling and animation experience with the OnePlus 15. This could also help increase the overall fluidity of Oxygen OS 16 and take the user experience a notch up.
And speaking of experience, the smartphone is expected to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (also known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2) processor, and a 1.5K OLED display. It is also said to up its batttery game with a 7,000mAh unit and 120W fast USB-C charging and 50W wireless charging support.

Additionally, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has officially confirmed its very own DetailMax Engine for the OnePlus 15 cameras. This ends the brand's five-year partnership with Hasselblad. A key feature of this new camera engine will be the ability to deliver high quality zoom shots using computational photography.
This new camera engine could be one of the reasons why OnePlus is shifting to a square matrix rear camera design with the OnePlus 15. That said, we expect the smartphone to break cover in the next few remaining months in 2025. So, expect to hear more official details of the device shortly.
