After multiple teasers and updates, Oppo has finally launched the Reno 16 series in China, bringing the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro. Both phones are a step up over their predecessors and are positioned in the premium mid-range category, with a 1.5K AMOLED display, Dimensity processors, a large battery and capable cameras.
Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro Specifications and Features
Starting with the design, the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro bring subtle refinements over the Reno 15 series, while keeping the core design elements intact. Both share the same cold-carved back glass, paired with a brushed aluminium frame to offer a seamless transition and smooth in-hand experience.

Both bring a triple rear camera setup with individual lens cutout inside a squircle camera deco. Also, Oppo is using the same holographic lithography design to create back patterns on the Reno 16 series, which first debuted with the Reno 15 lineup.
At the front, both the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro are equipped with identical 1.5K 120 Hz 10-bit AMOLED displays, with 240 Hz Touch Sampling Rate and up to 3,600 nits of peak brightness. The panels on both phones are protected by the Oppo Crystal Shield Glass.
The differences lie in the screen size and refresh rate tech, wherein the Reno 16 gets a 6.32-inch LTPS panel and the Reno 16 Pro uses a 6.78-inch LTPO display instead.

For performance, both smartphones are powered by MediaTek-branded processors. While the standard Reno 16 brings the Dimensity 8550 Super (same as the Dimensity 8500 chipset), the Reno 16 Pro is powered by the latest flagship-killer Dimensity 9500s processor.
Both are paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Software-wise, the Reno 16 series ships with Android 16-based ColorOS 16 out of the box, with several new features like Light Field Design, updated iconography, full-screen AOD, Flux Home Screen and more.

Moving on in terms of cameras, both phones are equipped with the same setup, bringing a 200 MP Samsung HP5 main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide angle lens with 112° Field of View and a 50 MP Samsung JN5 3.5x periscope telephoto camera. For selfies, they use a 50 MP sensor with support for 4K @ 60 FPS video recording.
In terms of battery, while the Reno 16 features a 6,700mAh capacity, the Reno 16 Pro takes it up a notch with a 7,000mAh unit. Both support 80W fast USB-C charging and Reno 16 Pro also comes with 50W wireless charging. Rest, both phones bring an official IP66 + IP68 + IP69 rating, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, dual 5G SIM and more.
