The Poco X8 launch date in India is scheduled for September 4, 2026, and ahead of it, the brand has already launched it in global markets. Since the global variant is widely expected to come to India unchanged, this gives us a good early insight.
Poco X8 Specifications and Features
The highlight feature here is the battery, with the Poco X8 packing an 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery (with 13% silicon content). This is a substantial 63.2% capacity jump over the Poco X7's 5,500mAh cell.

Poco claims the phone can comfortably exceed two days of use on a single charge and says the battery retains at least 80% of its capacity even after 1,600 charging cycles, translating to roughly six years of typical use.
The battery has also earned a 5-star Battery Performance Certification from TÜV SÜD. Charging is handled via 67W wired HyperCharge, alongside 22.5W wired reverse charging that lets the phone double as a power bank for other devices.
Up front, the Poco X8 houses a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display using flagship-grade luminous material, capable of hitting up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness across 25% of the screen. It carries TÜV Rheinland eye-care certification to help reduce visual strain, along with a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 3,200Hz instant touch sampling.

The phone sports a flat front panel with slim bezels and geometric design cues, wrapped in a sandblasted middle frame. There's also Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protecting the display against drops of up to 3 meters.
The Poco X8 carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings as well. It also includes a dedicated underwater camera mode, letting users capture photos and videos while the phone is submerged.

Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, a 4nm octa-core chipset paired with an integrated Adreno GPU, backed by up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The phone runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 out of the box, featuring the HyperIsland interface and built-in Google Gemini AI support. It also includes Xiaomi's Offline Communication feature for connectivity in areas without network coverage, alongside a speaker mode that boosts volume by up to 300%.
On the camera front, the Poco X8 sports a 50 MP main camera with both optical and electronic image stabilisation, paired with a 2 MP depth lens and a 16 MP front camera for selfies.

The phone also supports dual-video recording for capturing front and rear footage simultaneously. In addition, the Poco X8 comes with a suite of AI editing tools, including AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Image Expansion and AI Beautify.
