Alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series and the new Galaxy SmartTag 3, the South Korean brand has also dipped its toes into the open-ear wearable category. The Samsung Galaxy Buds On are its first-ever open-ear chip-on earbuds and they join the likes of Sony, Huawei and Realme.
Samsung Galaxy Buds On Specification and Features
Unlike the regular Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy Buds On don't go inside the ear canal. Instead, they clip onto the edge of the ear and rest lightly on it. Users get to keep their ear canals open, so they can hear their surroundings while listening to music.
This makes the Galaxy Buds On ideal for running, cycling or wearing all day at work. Samsung says it studied a lot of ear shapes to get the fit right. The earbuds have a wide contact area that spreads pressure evenly, so they shouldn't hurt after long use. The band's tension is also tuned to keep them stable while you move.

On the audio front, Samsung has added something called TwinBoost speakers that are specifically designed to improve low-frequency sound. The earbuds run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform with a power-efficient Class-D amplifier.
Samsung has also added an Audio Leakage Reduction tech which stops the Galaxy Buds On to bleed its sound to its surrounding. They also come with an automatic volume control, which adjusts the level of volume based on how noisy the surroundings are.
For calls, the Galaxy Buds On have three microphones and a bone-conduction voice pickup sensor. This picks up the vibrations of the user's voice, so it stays clear even in windy or noisy places. The earbuds also feature Samsung's Intelligent Clear Call, which uses machine learning to separate the user's voice from background noise.

Aside from that, the Galaxy Buds On also come with several smart features when paired with a Galaxy phone or tablet. They include Gemini Live, Quick Voice Memo with Bixby and Head Gestures like a nod or head shake to answer or reject calls, dismiss alarms, and respond to notifications.
As far as battery life goes, the Galaxy Buds On offer up to 9.5 hours of music playback on a single charge. They also come with a charging case with a transparent top lid and a USB-C port for fast charging.
